According to the head of the Agency for Entrepreneurship and Investments of the Republic of Dagestan Guseyn Guseynov, the number of small and medium-sized businesses increased from 44924 to 52395 entities as of August 2024.

The increase in the number of entrepreneurs is associated, among other things, with the state support. In 2023 approx. RUB 500 million for small and medium-sized businesses were allocated under state target programs in the region. The same figures are provided for this year. The most popular types of activity among the local entrepreneurs are tourist, cosmetology and transportation services, as well as trade in home-made products.
