A rice grits processing plant with a capacity of 40 tonnes per shift has opened in Kizlyar municipal district of Dagestan. The project is implemented by agricultural enterprise "Marenovsky" LLC.
The opening ceremony was attended by the prime minister of the region Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the first deputy minister of agriculture and food Sharip Sharipov and the director general of the LLC Magomedamir Omarov.
"Starting from 2018 -2019, state subsidies have been allocated from the federal and republican budgets to launch four rice processing facilities in Dagestan. Thanks to this, for present we harvest about 130-135 thousand tons of rice in the republic. We have increased the area; this year, we have involved more than 30,000 hectares of land under rice, and, accordingly, the yield per hectare is much higher than it was a few years ago" - Abdulmuslimov noted in his greeting speech.
According to the republic's Ministry of Agriculture, the Marenovsky LLC has become the fifth large rice processing enterprise in Dagestan opened in the past few years. The enterprise grows wheat, corn, barley, rice, annual and perennial grasses, tomatoes, processes grain crops, and dairy farming. The farm has a total land area of almost 6,300 hectares, of which over 2,500 hectares are under rice.
