Makhachkala, January 12, 2015. In 2014, the volume of agricultural production in Dagestan amounted to over 78.587 billion rubles in current prices, a source in the republican ministry of agriculture and food supply told RIA Dagestan. It is 107.7% of the 2014 figures.

The surplus is due to the increased production in cattle breeding and crop farming (105.6% and 110.6% respectively). The bulk of the production accounts the gross yield of grain and leguminous crops (increased by 14.5%) including rice (160%), barley (25.6%), wheat (5.3%), vegetables (15.7%), and potatoes (7.1%).
Regretfully, they saw a decrease in fruit production (10.6%) - about 105,000 tons in 2014.
