As to the Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan, Mukhtarbiy Adzhekov, the current storage capacity for agricultural products in the region falls far short of the demands of the area.
Currently, the aggregate capacity of storage facilities in Dagestan amounts to only 30,000 tons, which represents a deficit of more than eightfold compared to the requirements for the smooth operation of the agricultural sector. The actual need for storage infrastructure in the region is estimated at approximately 250,000 tons.
Furthermore, the minister emphasized that it was projected to construct and put into operation agro-logistic facilities with a combined capacity ranging from 65,000 to 70,000 tons by 2030. This development would result in a doubling of storage capacity, significantly improving the current situation.
