The Government of Dagestan has approved a concept for the development of public transport in the republic for the period till 2030. The document contains several figures.

According to data provided by the traffic police department of the regional Interior Ministry, there are 24,508 buses registered in the region, of which 20,898 have been in operation for more than 10 years. There are also about 3,200 small, medium, and large buses and trolleybuses used for passenger transportation on municipal and inter-municipal routes.
