The Chairman of the People's Assembly of the Republic of Dagestan Zaur Askenderov and the Chairman of Minsk Regional Council of Deputies Natalia Yakubitskaya signed an agreement on planned joint import substitution projects at the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia.
After the signing ceremony, Zaur Iskenderov pointed out the importance of finding new logistics routes. The top official highlighted the potential of sending cargo from Belarusian exporting companies through the Makhachkala Sea Trade Port, which plays an important role in the international North-South transport corridor. According to Askenderov, this direction has already been successfully used by some exporters and may attract the interest of other Belarusian businessmen.
Furthermore, the development of joint import substitution projects was identified as a promising area of cooperation. Particularly, cooperation in engineering and light industry has been actively developed and holds great potential for economic interaction between the two regions.
