Waste management facilities to be launched in Dagestan

The Ministry of Natural Resources of the Republic of Dagestan has announced that municipal solid waste (MSW) treatment facilities will be launched in the region this year. In 2024, the Russian Ecological Operator will sign contracts for the construction of waste treatment plants worth 90 billion roubles.
Noteworthy, in 2024, waste treatment plants are expected to be commissioned not only in Dagestan, but also in Mordovia and Pskov region.
According to deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko, Russia is well ahead of the plan set out in the National Ecology Project. By the end of 2023, more than half of the waste - 52.7% - will be sorted on the territory of our country, while almost 13% will be recycled" - Abramchenko said.
