The new facility is located on the territory of the Border Guard Service of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation in Dagestan. The museum features various exhibits of military glory, such as a 1933-year revolutionary red banner, samples of weapons, uniforms, photographic materials, newspaper clippings and many others things telling about the history of the Border Guard Service on the territory of Dagestan.

The opening of the museum will allow the Border Guard Service employees and their families, as well as the youngsters to visit it regularly. The building serves as an example of a classic museum and at the same time, a center for learning about the centuries-long history of border guards who served in Transcaucasia and later in Dagestan.

A special place in the exhibition is dedicated to the history of the largest checkpoint on the Russian-Azerbaijani border, "Yarag-Kazmalar," named after the poet Rasul Gamzatov. Materials are also dedicated to the special military operation and other topics.
