On February 20 the Ministry for National Policy and Religious Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan will host a round table dedicated to the International Mother Language Day. The event is organized by the Ministry together with the Centre for the Study of Native Languages of Dagestan State University and the regional Association of Teachers of Native Languages and Literature.

The round table participants will discuss the current issues of preservation, development and state support of the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Dagestan, as well as the role of public initiatives and language activists in preservation of linguistic diversity in the context of the all-Dagestani linguistic space.

The representatives of state authorities, experts engaged in the preservation and development of the languages of the peoples of the Republic of Dagestan, the representatives of public organizations, educational and scientific platforms, mass media are invited to participate in the event.
