Makhachkala hosts international chess tournament "Caspian Cup - 2024"

Makhachkala hosted the first international chess tournament among children's teams in blitz "Caspian Cup - 2024" for the prizes of Vadim Gustov, a prominent Russian statesman and politician.
Twelve teams from Dagestan, Leningrad and Astrakhan regions, Stavropol Krai, Kabardino-Balkar Republic, Karachay-Cherkessia, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Chechen Republic and Republic of Ingushetia took part in the intellectual competition.
The tournament was held on a round-robin system in 11 rounds with time control of 3 minutes + 2 seconds for each move, the composition of the team - 2 boys and 1 girl. As a result, the first place was awarded to the team of Dagestan (Temirbekov, Gadzhiev and Ratenkova). The silver medalist was the team of Stavropol Krai (Tidzhiev, Tuchin, Gulishyan). The team of Ingushetia (Keligov, Aushev, Kharsieva) won bronze.
The tournament winners were awarded with cups, diplomas, medals and cash prizes from hands of the guests of honor. The team of Leningrad Region (Makarchik, Abashev, Papenkova) received an encouraging cash prize "For the Will to Win".
It should be reminded that the tournament was organized by the Chess Federation of the Republic of Dagestan together with the Ministry of Sports and the PPF "MSM-TRANSECO" LLC under the general guidance of the Russian Chess Federation and with the assistance of the Anatoly Karpov Chess School in Makhachkala.
