Makhachkala, June 11, 2014. The Russian judoka Renat Saidov won a gold medal in International Judo Tournament in Havana on Sunday, June 8, the international tournament in the Grand Prix, the website of the Russian Judo Federation reports.
A native of Daghestan (up to 120 kg), now acting for the Chelyabinsk region, defeated Briton Sherrington in the final battle. From the first seconds Renat showed everyone that he aimed to take the gold in Havana.
Having caught and thrown, Renat overturned Sherrington on the mat. For that sprint he obtained only "waza-ari", but failed to hold. No matter how strongly British athlete rushed to the attack, Renat didn’t give him a chance to win.
