As part of efforts to strengthen international cooperation, representatives of the Republic of Dagestan paid a two-day official visit to the Iranian province of Mazandaran. The delegation was led by Andrey Tanaev, representative of Dagestan government at the Russian Trade Mission in Iran and Andrey Alenkin, Consul at the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Resht.

During their visit, the delegation members met with the provincial officials, the representatives of the regional business community, the local university officials, seaport authorities and the administration of the Free Economic Zone. They also met with Dr Norouzi, the representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry in Mazandaran.

The Iranian side proposed to organize cooperation between Amirabad seaport and Makhachkala commercial port.
