Horticulture is a traditional branch of agriculture, which is of great importance for the economy of Dagestan. In recent years, intensive technologies have replaced traditional methods of fruit growing in the region. The branch is developing dynamically, yields are increasing, state support is provided. Specialists also consider it important to exchange experience.

A delegation of specialists from the specialized branch of Dagestan agro-industrial complex have taken part in the forum of apricot growers in the Krasnodar region. The event gathered the representatives of many Russian regions that successfully develop the horticultural industry.

The forum included strategic sessions, master classes: experts, practitioners and scientists in the format of a lively dialogue discussed with horticulturists topical issues, outlined mechanisms for solving existing problems. Dagestan is a recognized leader in the country in the production of stone fruit crops: in 2023 were produced 87.5 thousand tons, with the majority of the crop was fruit of apricot trees.
