The construction of three major renewable energy facilities has begun in Dagestan. The key project is the 315 MW Novolakskaya wind farm, which is constructed by Rosatom Renewable Energy.
The project will be implemented in two phases: the first phase, scheduled for completion this year, will involve the installation of 61 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 152.5 megawatts. The second phase, slated for implementation by 2026, will see the installation of a further 59 turbines, bringing the total capacity up to 147.5 megawatts.
Additionally, the construction of Derbent solar power station with a capacity of 100 megawatts launched in October 2024. This project encompasses the deployment of over 190,000 dual-sided solar modules manufactured in Russia across an area exceeding 300 hectares, accompanied by the installation of over 800 kilometers of cables. Upon completion in 2026, this facility is projected to generate approximately 140 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
Besides, in October 2024, the construction of Nogai solar power plant commenced. The facility will have a capacity of 60 megawatts and occupy an area of 155 hectares. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned later this year. All these projects are expected to enhance the region's energy resilience and contribute to the advancement of sustainable energy solutions.
