Dagenergo JSC, a subsidiary of Rosseti Northern Caucasus, has successfully completed the replacement of outdated relay protection and automation equipment at 29 substations in Dagestan, improving the reliability of power supply to five urban areas, including parts of Makhachkala, Buynaksk, Khasavyurt, Kizilyurt and Derbent, as well as eight municipal districts.

The newly installed Russian microprocessor-based equipment has a compact design and is exceptionally resistant to damage. By the end of the year, a similar upgrade will be carried out at a further 11 substations in both the central and highland regions of the republic, all as part of the Dagestan Grid Complex's ongoing reliability improvement programme.
