The flow of tourists to Dagestan in 2023 has grown more than 2.5 times compared to the pre-Covid period, the Russia’s Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said at the meeting on the development of the republic's Caspian coast.
The regional hotels hosted more than 430 thousand travelers in 2023. Besides, the republican authorities contributed to the construction of 100 modular hotels. The local businessmen applied for the construction of three hotels with almost 500 rooms under a soft loan program.
"The main task now is to take advantage of the influx of tourists for the development of infrastructure and the creation of a new stock of rooms and attractions" - Reshetnikov pointed out.
There are already 100 modular hotels in operation in the region, built with a 155 million RUB subsidy under the national "Tourism and Catering" target project. For 2024, a grant of 93 million RUB (federal and regional budget) has been allocated for the development of the tourism industry in Dagestan.
