The Republic of Dagestan seeks ways to strengthen its relations with countries of the Islamic world. This is confirmed by its active development of foreign trade and the implementation of initiatives to expand cooperation. The regional government gathered to a meeting to discuss prospects for cooperation with foreign trading partners: Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Mauritania, Iraq, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Indonesia. The main areas of cooperation discussed were agriculture, industry, tourism and healthcare.

The past year witnessed the rapid development of trade and economic relations between Dagestan and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Trade turnover between the Republic of Dagestan and the OIC countries increased by 23% compared to 2023.
Export deliveries increased by 30.7% and imports by 11%. Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan were the main partners of Dagestan. The positive trend is also observed in the current year, which indicates that Dagestan is rapidly becoming an attractive trade partner for the states of the Islamic world.

Attractiveness of Dagestan for international cooperation:
