Dagestan authorities together with Russian Railways plan to develop railroad infrastructure in connection with the growth of tourist flow in the region. The parties are considering the possibility of launching high-speed electric trains between Makhachkala and Derbent, reconstruction of railway stations and platforms at popular touristic locations.
