This has been announced by the Head of the region, Sergei Melikov, at the Caspian Digital Forum as part of the national project 'Data Economy and Digital Transformation of the State'.
“It is planned to create a satellite network of high-speed Internet access for mountainous and hard-to-reach settlements in Dagestan. Considering the geographical location of the settlements, this is very important" - Melikov said.
The regional governor added that the republic intensively develops fibre-optic communications, which has made it possible to connect all the municipal districts and towns to the network. Over the past three years, the local authorities have made a significant progress in this area.
