In the fall of 2023, more tourists visited the republic of Dagestan than a year ago. The authorities of the republic reported on the growth of tourist flow. Dagestan became more popular destination among tourists this fall, the regional Ministry of Tourism reports.

The Ministry cites comparative data relative to the fall of 2022. "According to preliminary data, there is still an increase of tourist flow in the fall period of 2023 in the Republic of Dagestan by 10-12%"- the ministry official says.

Dagestan tour operators say that for the three fall months of this year the Republic hosted more guests than a year earlier.

Earlier, the executive director of Association of Tour Operators of the Republic reported that the demand for vacation in Dagestan collapsed by almost a third, while usually with the beginning of the low season, the drop in demand does not exceed 15%. Maya Lomidze, the ATOR officer, associated this trend with the recent riots at the airport in Makhachkala.

Remind that the "Pearl of Caucasus" rail route, which also runs through Dagestan and passes through Makhachkala, was included in the top 5 most interesting rail destinations according to "Yandex Travel".
