Makhachkala, November 3, 2016. The regional public organization "Dagestan association of mammologists and radiologists" with support of "Mammology Center L7” held the first in the Northern Caucasus scientific-practical conference for oncologists, obstetrician-gynecologists, experts of ultrasonic diagnosis and radiologists. The conference took place in the conference hall of Dagestan Ministry of Public Health on October 31.
The conference participants noted that the breast cancer rated first in morbidity among the local women. Last year, Dagestan Mammology Center joined the international program "Pink ribbon" for the first time. The priority of the program is the woman’s health. In the modern society, a conflict between the feminine and the "benefits" of civilization appear more and more; the excessive demands to the woman, the eternal lack of time inevitably has a negative impact on woman’s health.
The organizers of the conference, without hoping to change the social policy of the Republic of Dagestan, have come to the consensus about the formation of women's responsible attitude towards their health and their family's health in general.
The topic “The role of public organizations in the fight against breast cancer”, dedicated to the need to unite the medical personnel’s efforts in the fight against the breast cancer, to share experiences, as well as to prevent and diagnosticate cancer of the mammary glands, opened the event.
There were also some lectures on the epidemiology of breast cancer in Dagestan, pathologies of the breast with a discussion of personal clinical examples, accepted standards and non-standard cases in the diagnosis of breast cancer, new diagnostic capabilities of the X-ray mammography, etc.
Recall, in October within a major international campaign "Pink ribbon”, Dagestani women could make free mammograms and consult with an oncologist. The republican Centre for Medical Prevention was distributing the informational materials about the symptoms and prevention of a cancer.
