A new vessel of the «Karelia» project, a river-sea cruise ship, will commence service on a route connecting Makhachkala with Astrakhan, Rostov-on-Don and Volgograd beginning in 2025, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Transport reports.
The vessel is expected to operate on regular cruises, covering these four destinations. It is anticipated that three additional vessels of the same project will be commissioned in the Caspian, Black and White seas between 2025 and 2026.
Furthermore, there are plans to explore the possibility of introducing international cruises that would include destinations in Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan as well as Makhachkala.
