Five big eco-projects launched in Dagestan in 2022

Five major environmental projects have been launched in the republic last year, the press service of the regional Energy Ministry reports. In particular, the development of alternative energy has received a big boost in the region. It is about the construction of the first large solar power plant of 15 MW in Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk.

Moreover, private investment has also been attracted for the installation of wind farms with a capacity of up to 315 MW. The facility is scheduled to be commissioned in 2026.  Besides, thanks to a cooperation agreement between the Republic of Dagestan and PJSC RusHydro, a small hydropower plants will be built in the Untsukulsky and Gergebilsky districts.

The republic has also become a participant in the programme for the development of electric transport in Russia, under which 9 charging stations are to be installed and connected by the end of 2023. Almost RUB 25 million will be allocated from the federal budget to implement the project. This will allow investors to cover part of their expenses.

Furthermore, within the framework of the agreement signed in September last year between Gazprom and the Republic of Dagestan it is planned to create 5 methane filling stations within three years. As to the Ministry official all above mentioned projects are aimed at developing the fuel and energy sector and preserving the environment.
