Makhachkala, June 18, 2020. To combat counterfeit products and fakes, from July 1, the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, including Dagestan, introduce mandatory digital marking of certain goods. This was reported by the press service of operator of the national labeling system of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies.
The category of goods subject to mandatory labeling for sale in the distribution network at the first stage includes medicines, cigarettes and shoes. From the beginning of July, these products will not be sold without digital marking, with the exception of medicines released earlier (they can be sold before the expiration date).
The main goal of this innovation is to rid the market of counterfeit or counterfeit goods. This measure is implemented by assigning a digital code to a product at the production stage. Each code is individual, due to which it will be possible to completely track the path of goods from the manufacturer's factory to the consumer, including the moments of its return to the store, if any.
The buyer, using the free Honest Sign mobile application (available on the App Store and Play Market), can scan the code and find detailed information about the product. Special protection of the goods in the form of a cryptographic label will not allow the goods, for example, medicine allocated to the hospital, to go through the cash register of the store, thereby excluding the possibility of using medicines for resale. A digital marker of tobacco products will allow to control the maximum retail price for cigarettes.
It is expected that by 2024 the digital labeling system will cover almost all production, which in the future will serve as the basis for the digital transformation of the Russian economy.
