In the last year and a half, over 2,000 hectares of orchards, primarily consisting of apple, pear, and apricot trees, were planted in the Republic of Dagestan. Additionally, there has been an increase in the storage capacity for fruit products. In the year 2023, farmers in Dagestan planted more than 1,500 hectares of new orchards. From January to June of 2024, another 700 hectares were added. According to the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Republic, Mukhtarbi Adzhekov, storage facilities for up to 100,000 tons of fruits and vegetables are being prepared in the region. Three storage facilities with capacities of 50, 10, and 11,000 tons will be built.
