St. Petersburg, July 6, 2015. The "Expoforum" exhibition complex in St. Petersburg hosted the “Ethnopark” exhibition representing the culture of more than a hundred nationalities living in St. Petersburg. The exhibits familiarized the visitors with the culture, history and lifestyles, customs and traditions, folklore and mythology, costumes, cuisine and crafts.
The Autonomous Nonprofit Organization of social and cultural programs "Cultural Capital", the Committee on International Relations and the implementation of the migration policy of St. Petersburg, 111 national-cultural associations and the House of Nationalities of the city have become the organizers and participants of the event. The exposition consisted of four ethnic sectors symbolizing the peoples of the north, south, east and west of Russia. They demonstrated the traditional folk culture, including life, customs, rituals, festivals and costumes of the peoples of the country.
The multinationality of the Russia’s northern capital has been reflected through the layout of twelve authentically recreated ethnic sectors where the organizers conveniently placed various facilities: the house-hotels, craft shops, a museum, a traditional restaurant, souvenir shops and the other facilities that transmit the spirit of traditional life of different peoples.
Within two days, folklore, dance and vocal groups performed, master classes involving the masters of national crafts were held, and special gaming zones were arranged.
