At the end of 2023 in Dagestan, the growth rate of industrial production made more than 14%. According to this indicator, the region entered the top ten leading regions in Russia. However, according to the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, the industrial sector failed to achieve growth in some sectors:
Last year there was a decrease in the production of electronic and optical products - by 2.6%;

manufacture of finished metal products, except machinery and equipment - by 8.8 per cent;  
extraction of other minerals - by 16.6%;
production of paper and paper products - by 6.1%;
production of rubber and plastic products - by 6%.
