Makhachkala, August 3, 2019. The local authorities conduct an active work to revive the fishing industry in the republic and intend to build a fish processing plant. Dagestan Government officials say that the territory for the construction of the enterprise with a conditional capacity of 40 million cans per year had already been determined. This was stated by the Minister for Natural Resources and Ecology of Dagestan Nabiyula Karachaev at the meeting for affairs of the fishing industry development in the region.
According to Karachaev, the plant will produce the high-quality cans due to the deep processing of raw materials using high-tech production. Yuri Atanov, the chairman of the Association of Fisheries and Fish Processing Enterprises of Krasnodar Territory, noted the necessity to increase the volume of fish catch and to organize its processing directly in the region in order to revive the fishing industry.
In Karachaev’s opinion, it is necessary to start the revival of the fishing industry by catching and processing sprats, since this fish has large reserves in the Caspian Sea. The Prime Minister of Dagestan, Artyom Zdunov, proposed creating a specialized fish market in the capital of Dagestan, which could become a very interesting place for the tourists. During the meeting, it was decided to create a roadmap for implementing the decisions taken on the revival of the fishing industry in the Republic of Dagestan.
