Makhachkala hosts a scientific seminar devoted to the 100th anniversary of Daghestan national poet Anvar Adzhiev

Makhachkala, April 21, 2014. On April 25 G.Tsadasa Institute of language, literature and art of DSC RAS will hold a scientific seminar on "Anvar Adzhiev ‘s creativity and Daghestani literature of the XX century " dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Dagestan national poet,  the press service of Daghestan Scientific Center RAS reports.

Reports dedicated to the life and career of Anvar Adzhiev, his satirical humor works, as well as the issues of learning Adzhiev’s creativity in contemporary educational process will be heard.

Anvar Abdulgamidovich Adzhiev (1914-1991) was born in the village of Kostek, Khasavyurtovskii district of Daghestan. He graduated from the Higher Party School of the Central Committee, worked as a journalist in the newspaper "Daghestan Komsomol" and  "Lenin elu". Adzhiev occupied the position of secretary of the Republican Union of Writers and the chairman of Daghestan Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting and chief editor of the monthly "Druzhba".

The variety of language, masterly handling of art materials, expression of poetic language, rich rhyme, unique art of versification are the  characteristic features of Adzhiev’s of creativity.

Adzhiev proved himself as a master of translation. He translated many classic works by M. Lermontov, Taras Shevchenko, K. Khetagurova , M. Jalil, G.Tukay , R.Gamzatova , K.Kuliev and others into Kumyk language.

Anvar Adzhiev was awarded with the title of "People's Poet of Daghestan" (1964) and the Suleyman Stalskiy Prize.

A. Adzhiev’s creative heritage is one of the brightest pages of all 20th-century Daghestani literature.
