Makhachkala, April 17, 2015. Five heavy trucks with humanitarian aid from Dagestan arrived yesterday in Donetsk, the press service of Dagestan Head and government’s administration told RIA Dagestan.
On April 13, on behalf of Dagestan Head Ramazan Abdulatipov the convoy was assembled and then departed from Makhachkala to Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol region, to continue their way next day in a convoy of 33 vehicles from almost all North Caucasian Federal District regions.
"We arrived safely. On the border of Ukraine and Russia Donetsk mayor Igor Martynov welcomed us. The entire load - 2,000 square meters of glass, 15 tons of cement, 15 tons of cabbage, 15 tons of potatoes, 20 stoves, medicines, clothing for children and adults - was handed to Donetsk administration," said the head of Dagestani humanitarian convoy, Dagestan Head’s commissioner Alibek Aliev.
"This is our third trip – we have previously delivered 2 humanitarian aid convoys to Crimea. I would also like to note the contribution of all NCFD regions: the total humanitarian aid, including ours, weighed 500 tons," the commissioner added.
Donetsk mayor handed over a letter of thanks to Dagestan representatives for their support.
