Ismail Ismailov of Russia has won a gold medal in the European Taekwondo Championships held in Tirana, Albania. The event was open to athletes aged 12 - 14 years.

Ismail, a taekwondo athlete from Dagestan, became the best performer in the Russian team in the under-65kg weight category. Another Dagestani, Kairsultan Zamaykhanov, took home a silver medal in the under-45 kg category.

Competitions are still ongoing.
