Dagestan authorities promote construction of new road to Makhachkala trading port

The contract for the construction of a new access road to Makhachkala Sea Trading Port in the Republic of Dagestan is expected to be signed by the end of March 2025, Magomed Tagirov, the deputy Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure says.
According to official data, the design and estimate documentation for the project had been completed and positive feedback from state experts received in the early days of October 2024. The newly constructed road is projected to span 6.2 kilometers. It will branch off the R-215 federal highway, connecting Astrakhan, Kochubey, Kizlyar and Makhachkala. The road will be designated as a primary urban road of the second category, with controlled traffic management.
The estimated total cost of the project over the course of 2025 and 2026 amounts to RUB 7.9 billion.
